CSA Casting Director | Director 🎬 WGA Writer I’m a NY bred Latina who owns Del Valle Casting & Productions. I began my career as an actress. When I’m not casting/directing for others, I’m creating my own content. My latest project, Brownsville Bred, won SXSW 2022 audience award & Seriesfest Caz Matthews award! I’m a Sundance Lab alumna, Imagen Impact Award Nominee and the Director/Writer of “Me 3.769” (HBO) Director/Co-Writer of “Princess Cut”(HBO) Creator/Writer of “The System” (drama pilot I sold to CBS) Writer/Director of “Brownsville Bred” (WarnerMedia 150) -adapted from my autobiographical, critically-acclaimed, off Broadway stage play and awarded novel, “Brownsville Bred” As a Casting Director, my favorite Castings include “Alma’s Way” (PBS Kids) and “Alternatino” (Comedy Central), a slate of films by WarnerMedia 150 Directors, as well as indie films that we have also produced, including “Release” (UMC), “Princess Cut” (HBO) “Message Erased” (HBO) & “Gran’pa Knows Best (HBO). I began my casting career in ‘09. I was offered the position by a commercial producer, who loved my off Broadway, autobiographical, one-woman play. (Yup--I was acting on-stage! NY Times called my one woman show, “From Girlhood Trials to Onstage Triumph!”) The producer couldn’t hire an actress every day but they needed a casting director. —Over a decade later, I’m still casting! I love the craft & I’m a proud member of the Casting Society of America. I cast coast to coast. As a LatinĂ© bilingual, more than half of my work has served multicultural markets. I have an eye for talent and love to discover and encourage diverse actors toward their full potential. I also pride myself in my support of indie filmmakers, who (like me) aim to provoke thought, enlighten and unite through stories that amplify seldom heard voices. Miami News Times named me “Filmmaker to Watch” NALIP included me in their Director Showcase Official Latino gave me their “Vanguard” award & PBS featured me as an inspirational artist (alongside Michelle Obama) in their documentary, “Beating The Odds”. Favorite casting gig: “Alma’s Way” (series PBS Kids) Favorite film directing: “Brownsville Bred” (in production), Princess Cut (HBO) Favorite commercial directing: Walmart’s “Quinceañera” (for Rebel Road Studios). Favorite acting gig: Queens (ABC) recurring guest star as “Rosie” Follow me on Instagram & watch my Brownsville Bred trailer @elainedelvalledirector & at HTTPS://linktr.ee/delvalle
